BLACK HISTORY MONTH

The Madison County Historical Society presents "The Black History Month" Exhibit which will be on display beginning on Wednesday, January 16 until the end of day on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.  The display is at the History Center, 7 West 11th Street, Anderson, Indiana.  The Exhibit Hall is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Our collection is large and robust with the main focus -- this year -- on Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Included in the display are materials and items not easily found and others that have only come to light recently.  Also included are stories and newspaper articles about Dr. King and his work.

Our special "Thank You" to Bonnie Collier, Black History chairperson, and her helper, Pat Carter, for putting this collection together, its organization into an exhibit, and the research that was needed to bring it all together.

The exhibit is  free to everyone in the community.  It is for you and your family;  that's why we do it!  For more information and/or questions, please call us at (765) 683-0052 during public hours.  Thank you!
